Finding new makeup brands is a constant source of happiness and joy for me and today’s source of elation is by MeMeMe Cosmetics. Why? I’m an Aussie girl who relocated to the UK, and they’re a UK brand that have taken their fun selves to Australia. It’s a match made in heaven!
This is a first impressions post of their Goddess Collection gift box because I wanted to show you the products while I was still in testing mode. Here’s what’s inside:
- Nail Polish in Elegant
- Goddess Eyes Baked Powder Quad
- Sunbeam Illuminating Complexion Enhancer and Radiating Cream
- Bronze Shimmer Stack
- Light Me Up Lipgloss in Captivate
I’m going to show you pictures and initial thoughts but there’s a little poll at the end and if there’s anything in particular you’d like an in-depth review, let me know and I’ll see what I can do

First up, it comes packaged in a gorgeous box. It’s quite study, and I’m going to use mine to store other makeup/nail polish products soon. Obviously also great as a gift, as the each product has it’s place.

First up is the Shimmer Stack in Bronze.
From the outset it looks like a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick copy and… it basically is. I don’t own a Shimmer Brick – Catharine does though, because I bought her one (hah). From what I gather, MeMeMe’s version is more pigmented than its Bobbi Brown counterpart, and less sparkly.
In the pan it’s quite pink, but I can assure you that when it’s on, it’s definitely a bronzer. Don’t be silly and try and apply this like a blush…

MeMeMe’s Goddess Eyes Quad in 02 is I think the star of the show. It’s a baked powder eyeshadow, and there are four colours. A light shade (which is more white gold than it looks in the pan), a golden bronze, a taupey shimmer shade, and a darker shimmery brown.
It’s really versatile and easy to use, especially if you like the paint by numbers technique (nothing wrong with it!). You can even swirl a fluffy brush around the whole thing and apply it as an all-over wash for your eyes. You will need an eye primer underneath it though if you’re going to be out for a while, as I find it creases after 4-5 hours.

Next is MeMeMe’s cream highlighter. Sunbeam is really similar to Benefit’s Moon Beam highlighter in terms of colour, texture and packaging. Unfortunately 99% of my highlighters went missing with all of my foundations when I moved to the UK and Moon Beam went with them, so I can’t do a comparison for you. Isn’t that awesome?
First impressions are that they’re very similar though, and this seems like a good cheaper alternative.

There’s a gorgeous nail polish in the Goddess collection called Elegant. It looks quite similar to Chanel’s Peridot (at least from the endless swatches that I’ve seen online), but without so much of the steel and yellow duochrome. Much more toned-down, which I’m quite a fan of. Less confronting.

MeMeMe’s Light Me Up Lip Gloss in Captivate is an interesting one. I was busy looking at the colour when the boyfriend said “Why is there a light on your lipgloss?” Well… by golly, he was right. There’s an actual light on the wand of the gloss, and a bonus mirror on the side. I’m not sure how it’s powered – I can’t see a battery anywhere – but I’ll investigate further and get back to you.
The colour itself is a bronze shade with silver frost. It’s not very work appropriate, but on the right skintone would look amazing in the sun.

You get all five products in the pack, but I’m not sure if you can buy them separately. The products look great, and it’s really good value. Not to mention the variety means that it would suit even an experienced makeup maven, all the way down to a newbie.
The only disappointing product for me is the lipgloss. Because it has a silver frost in it, it’s not a universally flattering shade. Also the light is a bit of a weird gimmick. Depending on who you’re buying this for (or if it’s for yourself) then they might like it – but it is an extra thing to take into consideration.
Other than that tough, I’d be more than happy if this had been waiting under the Christmas tree for me.
